News Clippings in History: Jets Win Super Bowl On Walk-Off Berrios Return

December 7th, 2022

The New York Jets have won Better League’s Season 41 Super Bowl, defeating the New York Giants 26-24 in an unforgettable game. The Jets overcame a 14-point deficit in the second half to secure their first ever BL championship.

The game-winning play came on a miraculous walk-off touchdown by wide receiver Braxton Berrios, who returned a kickoff 104 yards following a Giants score.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” Berrios said in a post-game interview on the field. “We never gave up, we never stopped believing. We knew we could do it, and we did it. It’s just an incredible feeling to be a part of this team and this moment.”

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Giants quarterback Frank McDaniels put on a memorable performance, which included a go-ahead touchdown pass to Kareem Hunt that seemingly won the game.

“It’s tough, it’s really tough,” McDaniels said in his post-game press conference. “We put everything we had into this game, and it just wasn’t enough. We came up short, and that’s on me. I’m the leader of this team, and I take full responsibility for the loss.”

Jets head coach Hero, who won his fourth Super Bowl as a user, praised his team’s resilience and determination.

“I’m just so proud of these guys,” Hero said in a post-game press conference. “They never gave up, they never stopped fighting. They believed in themselves and each other, and that’s what it takes to win a championship. I’m just thrilled for them, and for our entire organization.”

The Jets’ victory marks the end of a historic season in the Better League, and sets the stage for an exciting Season 42. Congratulations to the New York Jets on their first ever BL championship.
