Season 42 Coach’s Interview w/ Lil Alex-Bears

Lil Alex/Tiny Alex/Small Alex/Alex is probably the most talented user without a Super Bowl in the Better League.  Every season he is considered a SB contender but has unfortunately been unable to get the ring just yet. I would like to point out that I think he is actually the best GM in the league currently. I have to give credit to a guy who has acquired EZM in back to back Madden’s & continuously makes trades that make him even more of a threat. 

 

What was your offseason focus & do you believe that you achieved those goals? Primarily in regards to trades & FA itself.

Lil Alex: My offseason focus was to get a true lockdown corner, get younger, and get a true WR 2 next to Deebo. I ended up getting Tyler Boyd in free agency who is a little slow but he’s a great route runner with solid size. I also snagged Antonio Gibson after I saw no one was really putting a serious offer in. Gibson was one of my favorite players last year and hopefully he can replicate his success (besides the fumble)I also traded some aging vets and some picks for AJ Terrell who I rated very highly as he almost has 99 man and 99 zone.The cherry on top was my trade with dan where I traded some future picks and a solid pass rusher for Robbie Anderson, Jonathan Jones, and Josh Uche. This trade was a balance of getting younger and winning now. Anderson should take the offense to another level with short in elite while Jones is a solid slot corner and Uche is a speedy, hybrid EDGE/LB guy with room to improve.

 

What was your draft strategy & who should the league be on the lookout for?

Tiny Alex: I traded away some older players to end up with 3 2nd round picks. I saw a few guys I liked and ended up trading up to snag the 15th overall pick where I selected Timmy Crawford, the 6’3 safety with 91 speed and star dev. Crawford is only 21 and adds some much needed youth to my defense.

 

What is your realistic expectation for this season? Playoffs? Division Title? SB or bust?

Small Alex: I go in to every season expecting to compete for a ring but my first two playoffs this cycle have been horrible. I still haven’t won a playoff game this cycle so my goal is to at least win 1 this year.

 

If you had to name one breakout user for this upcoming season, who would it be & why?

Alex: My breakout user would probably be Dan. I don’t see a way he misses the playoffs 3 seasons in a row. He finished the last season extremely strong and if he can put it all together this season, he could make a run.
